Several Saipan employers were recognized for their valuable contributions to disability employment during the NDEAM Conference at the Saipan World Resort on October 5, 2022. “Gold” award recipients, who offered full- or part-time employment to qualified individuals with disabilities were the Center for Living Independently, Herman’s Modern Bakery, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, and SP Dancoe and Associates. The following companies who partnered with OVR to provide program participants with on-the-job training (OJT) received the “Silver” award: Division of Revenue and Taxation, Green Meadow School, Herman’s Modern Bakery, Joeten Superstore, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, and the Office of the Governor. Finally, the “Bronze” award went to the following companies, agencies, or organizations for providing consumers with work experience training (WET): August Supermarket, Division of Youth Services, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, Kagman High School, Karidat Social Services, Office on Aging, and Taro Sue Corporation.

Jim Arenovski, owner and general manager of a several Shell gas stations in Saipan proudly delivers the Keynote Address during the NDEAM Conference at the Saipan World Resort on October 5, 2022. As a well-respected and successful entrepreneur, Jim advocates the hiring of qualified individuals with disabilities as it is a win-win situation. “[For me,] I want my business to reflect what the population is,” he said.

OVR Legislature Presentation
